SASSETA is the merging program between DIDTETA (Diplomacy, Intelligence, Defense and Trade Education and Training Authority) and POSLEC (Police, Private Security, Legal, Correctional Service and Justice Sector Education and Training Authority) to create an integrated training and education authority intended for the security and safety sector. The program was re-certified in April the 1st 2011 by the Department of HET for the upcoming 5 years of implementation. Through SASSETA, talented individuals are assisted and encouraged to learn about skill development and transfer (through South African setting), especially in the security and safety sector while meeting the industrial qualifications. The main purpose is to create leaders and experts in the security and safety training and development.
The idea is to deliver training and education authority that makes sure the intended South African citizens will be able to develop qualifications and skills through efficient and effective partnerships. SASSETA is designed to meet the NSDS (National Skills Development Strategy) objectives from the government that cover lifelong learning culture, productivity skill development, small business skill development, new employment assistance, and employability skills development. The participants with excellent academic results and ability will demonstrate a high level of professionalism that will do them will in a professional career.
